  • The following announcement is from Cristi Ciocan of the Romanian Society for Phenomenology and Editor of STUDIA PHÆNOMENOLOGICA:

It is my honour and privilege to present you the Romanian Society for Phenomenology and the review edited by us: Studia Phænomenologica. The only one of this type in Romania, Studia Phænomenologica is edited in these languages: English, French, German and Romanian. It is a quarterly review, amounting about 1000 pages a year.

The Romanian Society for Phenomenology was founded in the autumn of the year 2000. From the very beginning, it has received the assistance and cooperation of Mr. Professor Mihai SORA, ex-minister of Education, the author of “Du dialogue intérieur” (Gallimard, 1947), Mr. Professor Dr. Gabriel LIICEANU, translator of “Sein und Zeit”, the author of a phenomenological analysis of the tragic and of a phenomenological anthropology based on the problems of limit and human liberty, Professor Dr. Virgil CIOMOS, the author of “Time and Eternity (phenomenological interpretations of Aristotle, Physics IV)”. This initiative has received full support from Mr. Professor Dr. Walter BIEMEL, Mr. Professor Otto PÖGGELER, Mr. Professor Rudolf BERNET, Mr. Professor Theodore KISIEL and Mr. Professor Jean-Luc MARION. They are now honorific members of our Society and members in the Patronage Committee of the review we are editing.

The publication of the first volume of STUDIA PHÆNOMENOLOGICA, approx. 500 pages, is intended to be in the spring of 2001, and the review will contain phenomenological and exegetical studies, book-reviews, interviews, presentation of phenomenological congresses.

    Respectfully yours,
    Cristi Ciocan
